Started the day out right
With my work all the time schedule, it has been awesome to meet up for breakfast, coffee, or after work drinks. Today I met with a friend at Black Sheep and got scrambled eggs and smashbrowns with a grapefruit mimosa….all of it was delicious.

Because I’ve been ordering so much caponara from Edo’s as I’ve mentioned before, Brad and Greg sent down some broccoletti for me yesterday that was also fantastic & made a great dinner

Besides this, I’ve still been drinking tons of V8 and Odwalla juices….

Veggie Beef Pasta with Fresh Mozzarella

This amazing dish was made by Saint Michelle Webb. It is a slow cooked pasta with fresh tomatoes from our garden and slow roasted red, green and yellow peppers. Because I can’t really chew all the food I eat has to be soft and easy to slurrrp down. This dish was amazing.
This is misery
I am having horrible migraines every 4 hours. The first thing that happens is the implants start pulsing in my jaw. This is followed by a sharp pain in my temple and a strong feeling of nausea. The pain killers help a little bit but it does nothing to stop the sharp pains. I just try to sit still and think about accepting the pain and trying to relax my mind. I hate being stuck in the house but I can barely walk straight. We are two weeks into this and I am still using an icepack for half of the day. I don’t feel like eating, drinking or writing. I’m going to crunch numbers until I fall asleep. We move in 4 days and I am so behind. I tried to go into work the other day for two hours and I just couldn’t do it. It was miserable.

I am trying to make the best of things. Trying to relax. Trying to plan wisely. I think I’m going to take another nap. I need to get my eyebrows done.
Rainy days make me hungry
I’ve been drinking tons today. This is only some of it…add in a smoothie, some juice, and I’m working on a sparks now.

Last night I went to Mezzanine for dinner and had amazing baked tofu. I’m going to attempt to make this version, which will probably not be very good, but i love some tofu.
Ingredients:
firm tofu, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt & pepper, olive oil
Directions:
cut up tofu to the size of your choice
mix ingredients in a large bowl, as much of each as you like
marinate in the fridge for an hour
preheat oven to 350
place tofu on a cooling rack with a baking pan underneath to catch the excess liquid
bake for 10 minutes, turn tofu and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the edges start to brown
there ya go
Today has not been very healthy
Over the past few weeks, I have had a lot of energy and I’ve maintained a positive outlook, and I am honestly attributing that to my change in diet. However, today I woke up and almost immediately ate some chocolate, and i have since been drinking mimosas. I blame it on the rain.

My Favorite Meal Thus Far: thank you Edo’s Squid
Hands down, my favorite meal of this easy to swallow diet, is caponata from Edo’s Squid. For $6, you get a huge portion of eggplant, olives, tomatoes, squash, zucchini and chick peas with a baguette, regardless whether you get it in house or as take out.

In the 2 weeks we’ve been eating soft foods, I have had this 3 times. I am a lucky girl.

Blueberry Banana Smoothie

1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
I LOVE THIS SMOOTHIE. Banana is great in the morning. It keeps you full for hours and bananas are so inexpensive.
Black Bean Soup: 3 out of 5 stars

Ingredients
- 1 pound dry black beans, soaked overnight
- 4 teaspoons diced jalapeno peppers
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Directions
- Drain black beans, and rinse.
- Combine beans, jalapenos, and chicken broth in a slow cooker. Season with garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, pepper, and hot pepper sauce.
- Cook on High for 4 hours. Reduce heat to Low, and continue cooking for 2 hours, or until you are ready to eat.
What I thought about the recipe: I really enjoyed the soup. It was filling and not to spicy. I would suggest adding a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Face is a mess and I’m still truckin
Face is a mess and I’m still truckin hard on Rumors Plans. I am working on two books with Casey, a rock opera, a fantasy novel, travel plans for Christmas, songs for the new band, working on recordings of my mother telling stories about my family…. the list goes on and on and on.

When people tell me that can’t get work done because of this and that I just shake my head and say get over yourself. I’ve got a mouth full of stitches and a swollen head and I’m still making progress.
Today started off with Casey bringing me a bloody mary and grits from 821. I decided I deserved desert so I had a huge bowl of hot pumpkin cheesecake that my mother made me last night. For lunch I had a peach Naked drink. I am full of fruit. I sort of look like a Peach in the face right now. I have been listing to Sukhwinder Singh all day. I wish I was feeling good enough to go to Bollywood night at Cous Cous. Bollywood night is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl. You really feel free dancing to Indian music. The instruments sound so rich the music is really spiritual. Okay I can feel like Hydrocodone kicking in right about nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww……
People keep calling me to ask me if I’m okay. I can’t talk and everyone is taking advantage of it. Damn. I also don’t think it is possible for my butt to be any smaller than it is now. I can feel it shrinking.
